In our subconscious we have a hidden list if things we believe are right and a list of things we believe are wrong. These have been collected and assimilated in our 'memory bank" probably since conception . They have been placed there through the teachings of every person we have communicated with. We have heard the idea enough times to believe it is correct and like the chain on the elephants leg it inhibites our ability to expand our reality.
Our memory bank divides these rights and wrongs into two lists. Things we should do and things we should not do as per our learning up until this specific time. It is important for us to remember these belief are only thoughts people we have met through our journey in life have passed on to us and we have adopted them as gospel. They may be right and they may be wrong. They may be empowering our life or disempowering it.
One of the most dis empowering tricks our subconscious plays is when we start reading an article it sends a message "Well that is obvious isn't it" and we skip the rest of the article which if we had continued reading would have challenged one or more beliefs we have. Our subconscious does not like to be proven wrong so it sends us a message to ovoid anything which challenges it.
I know I did this for a decade or more.
Most people when they have a little training in building LIFE SKILLS invariably self defeat when it comes to reinforcing and increasing their knowledge. Almost automatically these people see a program and they almost say subconsciously "I know all that" or "I've been through that." Dismissing the words because of what they assume is boredom.
Giblen says is "Am I really using this knowledge and the techniques on offer?" He says "Knowledge does not help you----it is the use of knowledge that brings benefits." It is not what you know but how much use you make of what you know
